The New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) hosted a tree planting and dedication ceremony to commemorate their members’ commitment to AAHSA Quality First. The state’s lieutenant governor, office of aging director, other policy makers and their residents attended the event.

Connecticut Housing Member Makes Front Page News
The Marvin/Under One Roof, Inc., a long-time Quality First organization, made the front page of The Norwalk Hour in a story that showed how their work is helping seniors of all incomes receive the quality services that they deserve.

Iowa Nursing Home Lauded in Press for Putting Quality First
Bethany Lutheran Home was featured in The Daily Nonpareil for their award-winning Quality First programs, including an Alzheimer’s family support group and consumer education program about Medicare. Bethany’s administrator, Mike Van Sickle, said it best when he stated: "what we've done with the Quality First is, we've put the residents first instead of trying to meet regulations."

Oklahoma CCRC Develops Sheet to Highlight Community Commitment
At University Village Retirement Community, a continuing care retirement community in Tulsa, Okla., administrators used the AAHSA’s Model Community Involvement Fact Sheet to develop a resource explaining their organization’s work commitment to the community-at-large.

Advertisement Shows How Iowa CCRC Puts Quality First
The United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa, developed a full page advertisement with the Quality First logo for the Chamber of Commerce's "Welcome to Washington" catalog and on the organization's Web site. It is just one of the several promotional products this CCRC is using to showcase their commitment to quality.

The Good Samaritan Society of Sioux Falls, S.D., participated in a conference call with Senator Tim Johnson to educate him about the funding crisis our field is facing.

A Model for a Member Taking Quality First Public
Milton Residences for the Elderly in Milton, MA, ran a full-page ad in their newsletter illustrating to its community the importance of putting quality first.

Provider's Commitment to Quality First Makes the News
The Monroe Times featured The New Glarus Home in New Glarus, Wisc., for its commitment to AAHSA Quality First. The article included a summary of Quality First, a quote from the CEO about the organization's commitment and even a photo of staff members in specially designed Quality First t-shirts!

Provider Highlights Quality First in Response to Local News
Too often, journalists get the last word when they write about potential problems in aging services. The Holland Home, however, responded to recent abuse allegations at another facility with a letter to the editor highlighting how Quality First helps their organization – and several providers in the Grand Rapids area – provide the quality of life that their clients deserve.
