Dr. Robyn Stone, executive director of AAHSA's Institute for the Future of Aging Services (IFAS) testified at a Senate Special Committee on Aging hearing last week on the long-term care workforce. Stone discussed how investing in workforce education and development programs, offering more competitive wages and benefits to direct caregivers and advancing technologies could help us more effectively meet the needs of an aging society. Reason You Work In Aging Services:
I've had the great privilege of growing up in the field. For me it was an easy calling, my parents dedicated their lives to aging services. I have siblings and other family members committed to aging services. My grandfather founded the work of Wiley Mission. I guess you could say it's in my blood!

Biggest challenge:
The workforce. We need to recruit and find people who will dedicate their lives to this great work!

Retreat: Spending time with my wife and 6 children.
