Lakeview Village CEO Announces Retirement

August 14, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Richard Catlett, CEO, Lakeview Village, 913-888-1900, or Barbara Frank, COO, 913-744-2440

(Lenexa, Kan., August 14, 2007) - Richard Catlett, CEO of this 850-resident Lenexa continuing care retirement community since 1990, has just announced his retirement, effective March 31, 2008.

"Lakeview is now poised to complete some major achievements," said Catlett. "For this reason, I am confident we will attract excellent candidates and I will be turning the reins over to an outstanding successor. This is professionally important to me - actually, I have served on Lakeview's Board of Directors since 1974 - and personally as well, because my wife and I will be moving to Lakeview ourselves."

Under Catlett's leadership, Lakeview has grown from a community of 300 to one with 800-plus residents. "Size itself is not significant," he maintained. "However, I believe that our LifeCare Agreement (a kind of long-term care insurance included in the entry fee) is the best deal around for seniors, so I'm very pleased we can offer it to so many more people." He also cited the community's leadership in Whole-Person Wellness and some upcoming innovations in long-term care as points of notable excellence.

Before becoming Lakeview's CEO, Catlett achieved a distinguished career in banking, which included serving as President and CEO of Kansas National Bank & Trust Company and of Broadway National Bank. His numerous civic contributions include leadership positions in Rotary International, Optimists International, Lenexa Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees, YMCA, American Cancer Society, and Asbury Methodist Church. He has also held offices or other leadership roles in many professional organizations, including the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, Kansas Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, Kansas City American Institute of Banking, Missouri Bankers Association, and Kansas Bankers Association.

Catlett identified two guiding principles he has used throughout his tenure at Lakeview: (1) Is it in the best interests of the residents and community as a whole? and (2) Is it the right thing to do? "I personally am very gratified that everyone on the executive team uses these principles and has taught them to the people they supervise," he concluded.

A national search for Catlett's successor is being conducted by Witt/Kieffer and all qualified candidates are invited to apply.

Lakeview Village is a faith-based, nonprofit community in Lenexa for senior adults offering active living and supported options, including LifeCare. Whole-Person Wellness is an important aspect of life for its 800-plus residents.
