Michael O'Brien Named President & Chief Executive Officer at Duncaster

Bloomfield, CT - Michael A. O'Brien was recently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Duncaster Life Care Retirement Community. Prior to his appointment, Mr. O'Brien served as President and CEO of the Connecticut Alliance for Long Term Care (CALTC), a provider network of not-for-profit senior care providers in Connecticut.
In making the announcement Mr. Tuck Miller, Duncaster board chairman said "Mr. O'Brien's 25 years of executive leadership experience and his success in strategic planning; staff, physician and community relations; program and facility development; and operations and cost containment will be invaluable as Duncaster strives to meet the ever changing needs of today's seniors. With dramatic changes in the areas of wellness, healthcare and older adult housing, Mr. O'Brien's background will provide Duncaster with clear and focused approaches to best meeting the needs of current and future residents."
Mr. O'Brien holds a BA in Psychology from Fairfield University, a Masters in Health Administration from St. Louis University and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Assisted Living Association, Connecticut Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Cheshire Occupational Career Opportunities, Inc. and is a member of the Connecticut Association of Long Term Care Financial Managers.
A native of West Hartford, Mr. O'Brien lives in Cheshire with his wife and two children.
