I Want Upholstered Pieces with a Retail Look and Incontinence Resistance

Long Term Care and Assisted Living facilities around the Nation have been doing everything they possibly can to have their facilities say, "Welcome Home" to their current and prospective residents. Upholstered furniture must be designed for the special needs of residents. These requirements ought to include:
  • Comfort - Be ergonomically designed with the elderly in mind - Comfortable but firm and sized correctly, allowing the resident to get in and out of the seating with ease.
  • Completely resistant to any incontinent event that might take place and easy to clean.
  • Provide an attractive Residential look.
  • Meet appropriate fire codes.
With the advent of breathable, comfortable, and impervious upholstery fabrics such as Crypton® we can upholster seating that provides the protection you need, if the entire piece is properly constructed. Customers today want a retail look in their upholstered seating, which means to most people, a loose cushion rather than just a removable seat. Most manufacturers who are working with Crypton® construct their loose cushion in the same manner that a retail seat is constructed, having the loose cushion sitting on top of either white muslin or black upholstery webbing which would typically cover springs. If there were to be an incontinent episode, even though the loose cushion is covered with impervious Crypton® the muslin or webbing and hence the spring system is exposed to fluid penetration.

Phoenix Textile Corporation has design the Sensational 70's Fully Upholstered Line of furniture with our exclusive Loose Cushion & Removable Deck to solve that problem. The loose cushion is covered in Crypton® as is the removable deck. The bottom of the removable deck is covered in heavyweight upholstery grade vinyl. To clean any of our Loose Cushion - Removable Deck pieces, one only needs to lift up the cushion and remove the deck with an easy to use loop. There are no springs or fabric pieces that can not withstand the use of the Assisted Living or Long Term Care Resident.

Our Sensational 70's Line is available in Lounge Chairs, Petite and Regular Size Wing Backs, Sofas, & Love Seats. All sizes are available in a choice of 5 bottom styles; Chippendale Legs, Ball & Claw Legs, Tapered Legs, Queen Anne Legs, and Skirted Bottoms. All styles are available in a choice of the traditional removable seat or our exclusive Loose Cushion with Removable Deck.

Please feel free to go on our website at www.phoenixtextile.com then go to "Furniture Show Room" and then to "Sensational 70's Fully Upholstered Seating" to view the line. You can always contact us or schedule a visit with you Phoenix Textile Sales Professional at (800) 325 1440.
