New Weaving Technology in Terry Extends Life of Towel, Saves Money: Centium Core TechnologyTM
Strict housekeeping budgets often do not allow you to replace towels as often as you would like.
Constant laundering affects you in many ways. A few include the
processing cost of laundering, the replacement cost due to repeated laundering, and,
finally, the residents' personal care.
Standard Textile has developed a new, patent-pending technology that can help you successfully
address these concerns, while simultaneously upgrading the quality of terry product in your system.
Centium Core Technology is a patent-pending weaving methodology available
only in terry products
manufactured by Standard Textile Co., Inc. Utilizing our proprietary
Optimized Polymer
Performance Enhancement engineering,
Centium Core Technology increases the amount of
cotton contained in the pile allowing residents to feel more luxurious, absorbent cotton
next to the skin. The performance attributes of the towel are markedly improved by the
inclusion of specifically selected polymeric fibers that have been verified to uniquely
and positively address a particular end-use application.
The specialty polymeric core creates a dramatically stronger terry product that lasts
substantially longer than traditional terry. Relative component mass redistribution
transforms the residents experience by placing the weight of the towel exactly were you
need it to be – without increasing the overall product weight. What does this mean to you?
You will increase residents' satisfaction while reducing overall operational costs.
For example, a typical towel may weigh 6.0 lb. per dozen. The Centium Core alternative will
feel, look, and perform like a 6.0 lb. towel but will actually weigh only 5.2 lb. dozen,
due to the mass redistribution of yarns. The Centium Core towel is also 40% – 50% stronger
than a traditionally woven towel, which will equate to service life extension estimated at 25%.
This combination of increased product life and reduced weight and processing costs provides
for the infrequently seen opportunity to both increase quality and save money. To calculate
your actual processing savings, in this example, simply multiply .066
(weight per dozen savings/12 towels) by your processing costs. For instance, at a
processing cost of $0.30/lb., you would save $0.0198 every time you launder the product.
Over a service life of, say, 75 processings that equates to $1.48 per towel! Your savings
can be substantial!
By modifying the weft yarns, we have created a towel that absorbs more,
absorbs faster, feels better, is stronger and lasts longer.
Features:
- Enhanced pile performance - produces a towel that feels heavier and is more absorbent.
- Luxurious hand – allows for a softer feel.
- Unprecedented improvement in product strength – creates a towel that is 50% stronger than traditional terry.
- Dramatically extended service life – provides a towel that is better able to withstand the rigors of institutional laundering and lasts longer in your system.
